Welcome to Our Preschool Kindergarten Classroom!

Class Curriculum

Pre Kindergarten (4 years to 5 years)Children in preschool class are encouraged to achieve and grow in physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills.  The focus is to develop self-help skills, language, and social skills.  We encourage the children to follow directions, solve problems, work cooperatively, and express themselves creatively through the following:

  • Color and shapes- recognizes and names primary colors, recognizes basic shapes
  • Numbers- recognizes number 0 to10, uses numbers 0-10 in counting, compare quantities to determine more or less, identify penny, nickel, dime, quarter
  • Languages- experiments with writing independently, pretends to read, listens and responds to literature, recognizes first and last names, follows simple directions
  • Concepts- understands big and little, long and short, understands up and down, in and out, understand hot and cold, understands day and night
  • Motor skills- able to run and jump, able, to clap hands, build with blocks, completes simple puzzles, draws and colors
  • Social emotional development- knows home address and phone number, plays and shares with other children, puts toys away and helps with chores, able to work independently.

You are asked to provide the following:

  • A picture of your child
  • Blanket, labeled with child’s name
  • A change of clothes, labeled
  • Sweater or jacket, labeled

Daily Routine Schedule

Note: The times provided are approximate and can be adjusted based on the needs of the prekindergarten children and the center’s policies.

Morning Routine:

  • 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Arrival / Free Play

  • 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM: Handwashing / Breakfast / Potty

  • 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM: Arts & Crafts

  • 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM: Outdoor / Indoor Play

  • 10:15 AM – 11:00 AM: Music & Movement / Circle Time

  • 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM: Potty / Handwashing / Lunch

  • 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Rest Time / Story Time

  • 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM: Potty / Handwashing / Snack

  • 3:15 PM – 3:45 PM: Outside / Indoor Play

  • 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM: Potty / Diapers / Handwashing

  • 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Centers / Stimulating Activities

  • 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Review / Departure / Free Play
